- Many of you might still be scratching your
heads and wondering why we had to cancel our already-delayed reunion
last year. Here’s a
little something that might shed some light on the situation we
faced last summer:

- To pull off a great reunion you need, above all
else, three not-so-minor details; Men, Money & Morale.
Needless to say, we put the kibosh
on our 11-year reunion because we were seriously short on 2 out of 3
of these important factors.

- Of course we have more than enough Morale to
hold tons of reunions. There
certainly was enough energy and desire to reunite and reintroduce
ourselves to long lost friends and faculty.
What we had very little of was Men and Money.

- The largest problem that we faced, and still
face, is finding enough classmates to hold a successful reunion.
We did manage to get in touch with a significant amount of
alumni, but, at final count, less than 5% of our classmates were
able to attend the reunion. Not
enough Men.

- Attendance is very vital to a reunion because
it allows us to spread out the event’s costs.
Without a decent turn-out of alumni, we would have to raise
ticket prices to astronomical amounts in order to pay for the event.
And so, ‘Not enough
Men’ makes for not enough Money.

- Since you can’t ever keep good Morale down,
we do have to pat ourselves on the back and point out that the
reunion attempt did leave us with a genuinely terrific silver lining...
We have an OHS ’93 website! If you’re reading this, then you
clearly know that.

- The plan for this website is to use it as Class
of ’93 headquarters. We
will post alumni information, spread word about a possible 15-year
reunion in 2008, and answer any questions you might have about OHS,
AlumKnights, and
Las Cruces
in general.

- So, cross your fingers that Men, Money and
Morale will abound in 2008. Until
then, enjoy the site!
